Canty and Howlett complaint (filed September 22, 2016)
Deborah Canty and Michael Howlett sued POASI in Superior Court for access to financial records that members have a right to see. The full complaint is public at the Carroll County Courthouse. POASI settled before trial in May 2017, using member dues to fight sharing that information.
John Sullivan case
John Sullivan, a lawyer admitted in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Arizona, and the U.S. Supreme Court, challenged the board’s authority to change covenants. In January 2016 the board reported a complaint and later shut off his water. He could not finish the case after selling his Suissevale home and returning to Arizona for family health reasons. The August 2015 Viewpoint outlines his legal thinking.
By-laws letters and minutes
Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. wrote POASI in September 2015. See the November 2014 and March 2015 minutes for by-law changes that were later cancelled.
